FCP7 - CHV Electronics Dead Pixel - Export problem
on Sep 13, 2016 at 4:31:52 am

Hi,

I have the CHV Electronics Dead Pixel and I work on Final Cut Pro 7. The problem I have with a recent video I´m trying to finish is that when I export my video with any codec (Animation, Apple Pro Res, H264, etc.), my video turns kind of pixelated. Could it be something I´m doing wrong with the CHV Dead pixel? I never had this problem before.

Thanks,

What codec is the footage you are working with? The stuff you are editing with? If it's anything BUT an editing codec like ProRes...if it's H.264 or some other similar codec...that'll be the problem.

Hi Shane, thanks for the response.

I've tried with a source video of H264, Apple Pro Res and Animation. I get the same pixelated result when adding the CHV Dead pixel. Only when I add it, when I do the export without it, I get a good looking video. Never happened before.

Wait...post a picture of this. I wonder if it's is the "watermark" of the plugin.

Hi Shane,

I looked again or the codec as you said and finally found what it was: My footage was Apple Pro Res, but my sequence was in H264 because it was a "save as..." from another sequence. That was causing the problem. I changed the settings to Apple Pro or Animation an the pixelation disappeared.

Just to show, it looked like this.

Thanks a lot for the assistance!

Regards,
Asgard
