Creating Subclips With Different Audio Tracks
on Aug 15, 2012 at 12:17:38 am

Don't ask me to explain why, but this is what I'm trying to do: I want to sync up some footage with audio from an external source in the timeline, and then create subclips from that footage which refer both to the camera audio as well as the synced external audio. I can't seem to make it happen, even if I link all four audio tracks and the video track together on the timeline. Any ideas?

After you link the two pairs of audio clips and video clip together, do you drag that into a new bin? (You can check they're truly linked before dragging into a bin by making sure your 'linked selection' is on and just click one clip and see if the rest highlight.) If you drag the clip that's in your new bin to the timeline, it should have all the audio tracks on it.

You can use Pluraleyes to quickly sync your video clip with the in-camera audio to the external audio. It won't delete your in-camera audio so then you can just highlight that clump and link it yourself before dragging to the bin.
