Looping Playback Compressor 3.5
on Nov 12, 2009 at 6:25:25 am

Hello out there, anybody know if there is a way to get Compressor 3.5 to burn a looping BD/AVCHD DVD. I couldn't find anything on that anywhere, just wondering?

Hi Steve,
Compressor do not burns nothing.
In DVDSTP you can do a DVD that loops for ever.

Compressor 3.5 will burn DVDs, publish to youtube, scrape the ice off my windshield and much more, but I'm trying to get a 1920 X 1080 looping AVCHD or BD disc and DVDSP will not do that.

You can set up a job in Compressor 3.5 to burn a Blu-Ray or build a disk image when it's finished encoding. Look up "Job Action Tab" in the Compressor manual for step by step instructions on how.

There is an option to loop the movie, but that option doesn't work on the player we have here. YMMV.

I see an option for a loop button but not for native looping playback. I was hoping there was a script out there or something. HD signage is all the rage these days, Roxio?

Hi Steve,
Sorry for my lapsus.
I'm still with FCS2.
About the looping, I don't know how it works in Compressor.
In DVDSTP, you would set "Track ends jump to:.." and you would set the same track.
Cheers,

Cool, you really should try out Studio 3, I think it's worth the upgrade—as well as OS X.6. My old MBP has got fresh legs again! I think the loop button option may work only I just need to find a compatible set-top.
Cheers, Steve.

Hi Greg,
I want to buy a Mac Pro but I'm waiting for the next release.
I thought this would be moment to upgrade (SL and FC3).
This that you say that " My old MBP has got fresh legs again" sounds great.
I have a MBP 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo with 4 GB RAM.
Do you think I would get better performance upgrading?

Hello again. I think just doing a clean install of any OS will give better performance to your rig, and in this case for twenty nine bucks I think they've got it dialed this time. It's the little things like external drives ejecting pronto, and super fast bootup, not to mention cool new features like the QuickTime X player. Of course it took a couple days to update drivers etc.. but most of the manufacturers are on board now and I think now this old rig—15in MBP—is good for another 2 years or more and I've got a ExpressCard/34 slot.
Best always, Steve
