Hypothetical....Setting up wireless storage for editing at home.

So I'm tooling around with this idea. I archive a lot of my better spots and segments on a firewire drive....but every now and then I'm watching a tutorial at video copilot, or something at layers magazine, or read something here, while sitting on my couch with my laptop (Watching TV shows like Time Warp or Good Eats *shameless pandering for top notch suggestions from certain Cow contributors*), and I get inspired to try something using the ideas/techniques I'm seeing. Now rather than getting up, plugging in the drive and running the cable, getting everything all hooked up to tool around in AE of FCP, does anyone have suggestions on setting up a wireless storage solution, fast enough to run with these programs? Keep in mind, just has to be passable to mess around within AE and FCP to expand my skillset, not necessarily full-speed-blazing-throughput-that-impresses-the-client-and-makes-me-more-money fast.
