Upgrading to Sierra with FCP 7 and Studio Installed

Hi,

I am currently using El Capitan 10.11.6. I have FCP 7, FCP X, Premiere Pro CC 2015, Photoshop CS 6, Live Type, DVD Studio Pro and Both New and old versions of Compressor.

If I upgrade to Sierra will all of these programs still work? I need to still use them.

Thanks

Hi,

Why I don't advise holding onto FCP 7, it seems that it will continue to with on macOS 10.12.
Is FCP7 compatible with Sierra

FCPX you shouldn't have any problems with.
Final Cut Pro X

Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 is supported on macOS Sierra 10.12.
Find the detailed system requirements and recommendations for Adobe Premier...

You're going to experience issues with Adobe Photoshop CS6 on macOS Sierra 10.12.
CS6 - MAC OS Sierra

LiveType, DVD Studio Pro, and Compressor 3 seems to work.
Mac OS 10.12 Sierra - Pro Audio Compatibility Update
What's the latest MacOS I can safely upgrade to which will run FCP 7 and DV...

Compress 4 will work as well.
Compressor 4

I also think that it's time that you look into upgrading from FCP 7 and Adobe CC 2015 into only the latest and greatest.

I agree with Jessica Adam. If you need FCP 7 because you have some old videos to edit in the future, you might want to move to the new machine, and leave FPC 7 on the old one for possible updates. I wouldn't continue to use FCP 7 for new work, as you could easily get burned in even a minor update. You could try to move things but as you know, FCP is awfully touchy about path structures etc. I left it on my old Mac Plus as long as I could.

Best of luck

Al
