Merging Information of two hard drives?

Hello All!

I have an older version of a server folder on an external hard drive. We have since installed an automatic back up system for our server, and I would really like to clear that folder off of the external hard drive so I can use that extra space. But, before I go delete crazy, I would like to make sure that everything in the folders on the external hard drive, are also on the server. I have been sitting here, going through folder by folder, but is there an easier way to do this?

SYSTEM SPECS:

Mac Pro Mid 2012 running OSX Mountain Lion

Any tips are appreciated. Thanks!

I use FileBuddy to do some of this. It's an elegant Finder replacement. Works well.
Also.
http://www.deltopia.com/compare-merge-sync/macosx/
and
https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14192/compare-folders
might do what you want.
Try searching Google for Mac OSX File Folder compare. There are others out there.
Some people actually use Parallels and use Windows tools, which are much more robust in this area, for some odd reason. I have yet to find tools on the Mac for this that are as good as the ones I use on Windows, which are fast and well thought out.
