MP4 movie issue

quick question - Client sent me some MP4 movies he downloaded (think they were flipcam movies) but we can't play them now. He thinks its an issue with the root folder path missing or a 'skin' missing issue. Ive tried several programs to try to get image but no luck.
I would use Clipwrap if these were .MTS files, but am having no luck with them as .MP4. Is there a program that deals with MP4 files versus a file/root folder structure necessity?
HOpefully I've asked that right :) Any help would be great!

Have you tried VLC Media Player? In my experience, that media player will play most anything you throw at it. I'm absolutely certain that it will handle .mp4 files, I play them back on VLC all the time.
