Leopard instead of Snow?
on Sep 15, 2009 at 3:18:12 pm

I read the post below concerning replacing snow leopard on a new MBP...
couldn't quite figure out the real answer...can I install 10.5.6 on
a new MBP that comes with Snow Leopard on it? can I partition the HD
and have both? Any help is appreciated...My AJA IO device only has drivers for Leopard....

Yes you can BUT it MUST be done from disks that came with the EXACT SAME MODEL computer. NO other disks will contain the drivers needed for the hardware of that machine. A retail 10.6 install disk will NOT work ether as the build of the OS on those disks is OLDER then the machine you are trying to put it on and therefore will NOT contain the needed drivers for the NEWER hardware.

Yes be the 10.5 partition sell needs to be installed with the disks I mentioned above.

Apple

If you don't believe it then make an appointment at your local Apple Store and let one of Apples Certified Technicians explain it for you.

Yes they are basically explaining the same thing I did.
