Exposing correctly
on Sep 24, 2017 at 11:15:46 pm

I’m a bit confused on this. In some online tutorials regarding GH5, they recommended exposing an 18% gray card to about 42 IRE. Why not 50 IRE as it’s in the middle of the waveform monitor?

To get correct color on skin, I need to do correct exposure first on an 18% gray card before white balancing. What if my shot should look less bright (like night shots)? How do I expose correctly in this scenario while still maintaining correct skin tones? Thanks! God bless!

ut in omnibus glorificetur Deus

Personaly I get up the waveform vestor scope but there are no rules, just guidelines. This should give good results unless you have extreme lighting conditions. I am constintly impressed by how well stuff comes out of this camera. The other thing is which picture profile you use. The two cinie-v and d seem to be the favorates.
