I'm using Media Composer 7.0.2, playing back, and recording to a DVD.

I'm using an ISIS. I'm playing from a video mixdown. We're using DNX 175 resolution.

All I'm doing is pressing the space bar to play the sequence and hitting record on the DVD player.

About 20% of the time I make DVDs there seems to be a glitch that skips a couple of frames. This happens with different projects, different workspaces on the ISIS AND just recently found out that it also happens on a different machine. Also, it never happens in the same spot.

Has this happened to anyone before? I feel like I'm wasting so much time re-doing DVDs. Also I happened to miss a glitch in a DVD that happened to go out :(.

Live playouts for final dvds is probably not the best idea. Sounds like your system is simply choking.
Do you have red lines on the area above your timeline?

You may be able to drop the format of your project down in the settings/format tab and try another playout. (you are doing a downconvert anyway)

I would simply take the time to output a file and burn it through something like toast or sonic or any other dvd authoring program. Make one master file, make sure its good, then all others will be exactly the same.

Hi!! I recently try the same version in a new z420. Working with ISIS and Interplay.

We have problems with some effects: paint effect, mosaic effect and animatte effect... . When I render that effect I have a glicht video: it doesn't care if I try to do a videomixdown or a render. It´s like a video signal without reference.

It happend always, different machines, different videos... no way. Always the same problems. Even when I export an mxf OP1A, but not when I make a QT file. It's some kind of issue with mask, alpha, or matte and mxf files, I think. Other effects works fine.

Also, I found a workarround: Edit one track at top with a TEXT EFFECT with nothing write. Then, EXPERT RENDER that track or videomixdown. That's works!!!! It's crazy!!!

If I can I upload a video and that way you can see what I try to explain. I hope It's work for you. Good luck!!

Create video and audio mixdowns of your locked timeline and place these on a new timeline. Much easier for your drives to playback a flattened timeline.
