axle 2014 lets users on laptops, tablets, and smartphones use media and collaborate anywhere
(NAB Booth SL15516--March 30, 2014) axle Video, the company redefining media management, today announced axle 2014, the newest version of its award-winning media management software, featuring much faster performance, up to 300,000 assets, optimized iPhone and Android support, and support for localized user interfaces. In addition, axle announced availability of the new axle Gear Pro configuration with support for the Avid® Media Composer® family of editors.
The new mobile interface, included with axle 2014, lets team members search for assets, navigate the folders on their shared storage, and review and approve video assets. It complements axle’s existing support for the iPad and nearly all PC/Mac desktop browsers, by providing a tailored mobile experience for quickly finding and checking media. axle’s lineup of new and upgraded products being demonstrated at NAB 2014 includes:
"We installed axle Video software to help our producers and editors manage our extensive archive of ‘mood shots’, said Daniel Chaput, Creative Director at Knock Knock London, a creative postproduction house in the UK. “Not only has axle Video made it easier to find content, but it has helped our teams work much faster. They can swiftly find just the right shots to fit our clients’ exact requirements, and as axle integrates seamlessly with our editing software, we’ve been able to dramatically increase productivity by spending far less time searching for shots and more time working creatively to produce fantastic promos and programmes for our customers."
NAB attendees can learn more at the axle Video booth, SL15516, in the lower South Hall, April 7-10. NAB 2014 also provides a showcase for axle’s rapidly growing industry partnerships, just 18 months after axle’s original launch at IBC 2012. Of the more than 25 axle partners in the South Hall, seven will be demonstrating axle media management in their booths, including five new strategic partners: Dell (SL16014 and StudioXperience SU621), Harmonic (SU1210), IBM (S115LMR), Promise (SL5329), and Qualstar (SL13016).
