ProAn / InvigPRo v5 - OpenGL improvements?

Hello,

I am just wondering if anyone has noticed any significant interactivity/preview/render improvements with the new v5 of either of these plugins if a high-end GFX card is in the mix? I am thinking of plumping for a Quadro card to optimise CS5 mercury engine and if this card would drastically improve working with Zaxwerks stuff aswell then that would seal the deal for me..

Used Invigorator v3 and 4 for AE (AE 5.5 & 7 on PC and Mac) and although great flexibility potential with these plugins I just found them buggy as hell and too slow to work with effectively. If things have changed at all then I'm very interested. Will never replace C4D/XSI/3DSMax, etc but would be very useful for us on heavy AE projects with basic 3D.

Any observations from users/developers greatly appreciated.

Hi Jim.

If you'd like to get a sense of the improvements in the 3D Invigorator v5,
we welcome you to download it and give the demo a spin.

A higher end graphics card would help in the following ways:
- The ability to render more complex geometry faster
- More VRAM means the ability to render larger frames on the graphics card

But overall, you won't see any huge improvements by spending more on a card.

Since we now have an improved GL Renderer, you can use it to render
high quality frames faster. If your scene doesn't require some of the features
of the software renderer, you can significantly improve your rendering speeds
by using the GL Renderer.
