Image on 3D objects not showing in preview pane
by Christian Gearhart on May 19, 2010 at 3:21:02 pm
I'm following the "How to put a picture onto a 3D object" and i'm running into a problem when dragging the new material onto the face of the 3d object. The .psd is showing in the material commands palette, but when I drag the material onto the 3d object, it does not show in the preview window. I know it's taking it, because when I render the frame, it shows in the pop-up window, but still does not show in the main preview windo.
Thank you for your time!

You are probably using a 3D Display Style that does not display texture maps. Right below the Preview Window, there is a 3D Display Style button. By default, the icon is set to the "Grayscale" (a gray sphere). This means the program only previews the bare model without any of the texture maps. This keeps the preview speed fast. To see the texture map applied onto your object, click the 3D DIsplay Style button until the button turns into a colored sphere. Then you'll be able to see the texture map.
