Everywhere I read about the advantage of adding upto 3 gigs and changing the boot.ini file.

Can any one tell me if there are any negative side effects to this?

I have total of 3 gigs now but only 2 gigs for AE and I want to change the boot.ini file to 3 gigs.

Will an extra gig help? so total 4 on the computer but only 3 for AE?

Hello Adeeb.

There would be advantages to having more memory for AE (in particular, you'll be able to fit more rendered frames into memory, which may improve performance slightly).

In general, though, unless you're dealing with huge data sets (incredibly complex 3D Invigorator objects, very high-def images/movies, etc.), you won't see too much of a difference.

That's been my experience, at least.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Hi, Thnx for the tip about the 3 gigs.

I want to change from 2 gigs to three gigs. I checked inf. on the web and understand that I can do this in the boot.ini flder.

I also understand that it can mess up the computer if you do it wrong.

Could you advice the correct way to apply the 3 gigs in the boot.ini folder.
