Best quality render out 1 frame for photoshop

Hi chaps long time no see - this kind of piggy backs on an earlier thread (zax logos as stills)but adds somewhat to it. I need to render out a BIG chrome ring - all is looking pretty good but i wondered if i could improve the effect. The 'reflections' in the chrome, in particular are a but lumpy/bumpy/crooked - can I increase facets any more than 10 (if this is indeed the cause) My comp is set at Cineon Full and I'm 'exporting' a tga with alpha which comes into photoshop fine - I'm almost there but wondered if anyone could help me add that last bit of smoothness. Many thanks for your time - Roger

Hi Roger.

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Also, what product are you using?

Thanks.

Hi Roger.

It looks like you may need to change your Preview/Final Faceting value.

Try the following:
1. Select your ring object.
2. Open the Object tab and find the Object Faceting section.
3. Change your Final Faceting value to 0.1 (or drag the slider all the way to the left).

The faceting in the preview area won't change, but your final rendering should
be much more smooth.

Let us know if that helps.

Ah - to the left - I forgot that - how stupid I am. Matt you are a diamond (that is a diamond geezer - which is the same in England as a jolly good chap) many thanks Roger PS I'm guessing my other guesses were correct for rendering out a high quality image ie cineon full .tga with alpha etc OK for photoshop ?

Serge good to see you're still around and active - not been about here much - I was made redundant from my broadcast job so have gone freelance and am trying to get into some web work so new software to learn but I'm trying to incorporate some AE and Invig stuff, where I can, 'cause that's where the real fun is ! take care and see you on here again I hope - Roger
