I just tried using the latest ProAnimator (4.1.0) as a standalone 3D text generator which works as advertised. Problem is that when I choose to render a single frame with Aplha Channel clicked - it always generates a black background (as it should for an Aplha channel) - BUT - when I output as a .pict file and bring this into Photoshop, the Aplha channel doesn't work. The background stays black! I am not even sure if a .pict file supports Aplha capabilities?
I am trying to use the 3D text for a web site project and would like the text to have alpha capabilities when going to .gif. Is ther a way to do this correctly?

yes, the pict format supports alpha channels and ProAnimator 4 exports picts with alpha channels. I just did a "render frame" and saved the picture in pict format, opened it in Photoshop and the alpha channel was there... from ProAnimator 4.
