I used Invigorator to maken a 3D text. In AE I have a layer with as many sets as there are letters in the text. I would like to animate the individual letters. But when I change the X rotation of set 1, the whole text rotates.
Is it possible to animate the individual letters ?

I was just going to post this question. I think it wont do it... I stayed up all night last night trying to get it.

There are these tutorials:

http://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e/ae47_e.html#
http://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e/ae27_e.html

they are helpful and the effect screens are useful, but the explanation is only for importing illustrator files, not text created in invigorator. DIdn't find anything in the manual either.

Mabey Proanimator has the solution...i dunno though i havnt used it exept in demo.

I cannot figure out a way to animate the specific texts directly in invigorator. I think you still have to inport the files from illustrator to do that.

I hope someone can explain this....

Let me specify my specific question, since it is similar to this post, but specific.....

Can anyone explain how to manipulate individual characters that are generated inside of invigorator 4.x, or is there even a way possible.

The examples in the above post are great, only they only apply to ai files....

Is there a way to apply individual characters created inside of invigorator, similar to the mothod described in this tutorial for ai files????

Your help is much appreciated.

In my previous post I was referring to Invigorator text. You can manipulate individual letters both in the Setup window and in the Effect Controls panel. Just select each letter individually and manipulate.

By default all the letters of the word will be in Set 1. In the Setup window, click on the second letter of the word and choose Set 2 from the Sets popup menu. Then put letter 3 in Set 3, letter 4 in Set 4 and so on. You can leave letter one in Set 1. Click OK to leave the Setup window then click on the first letter to select it in the Effect Controls panel (make sure you have the Object button selected - it looks like 3 cubes). Once it's selected, click on the Set popup menu (it should say Set 1) and choose Recenter Pivot, this will move the pivot point to the center of the letter (since it's now the only object in Set 1). All the other letter's Pivot points are already centered. Now you're ready to animate each letter individually. The only limitation is the Set limit of 8. You can always duplicate the effect but that's not that efficient. ProAnimator isn't limited by sets so can handle this kind of animation more easily.

Yes you can select individual letters in the Scene Preview window - just click on them, and move each one into a different set as I explained in my post above. The setup window is the window that opens when you click Options or on the little red ball in the Effect Controls window.
