I would like the logo of my company to rise from the water and have the reflection be distorted by water ripples.
Invig is probably the right tool for the 3D logo, but what plug-in do I need in After Effects to achieve photo realistic water effects? Are there tutorials about this? Hopefully I can avoid the Maya route, which I have never treaded.
I know this thread probably belongs somewhere else, but Zaxwerks users may have stumbled across this problem in the past.

Psunami is the water simulator of choice for After Effects (http://www.digitalanarchy.com). The water is very realistic, primarily for large-scale water. You can fake the reflections of objects above the surface by mapping an inverted copy of the object on the water's surface and adjusting transparency.
I've done an animation where my Invigorator logo appears to come from the depths of the water and break the surface of the water, before rising above it. The process was fairly involved, but it turned out well.
There are other techniques for making small-scale water, caustics and the like. You'll find at least one tutorial for that here on the COW.
