I cannot get transparency mapping to work.
I even tried geting it to work in a tutorial that is supposed to have it set up - still, no transparency.

Hi,
It sounds like you would be using the OpenGl renderer. Use instead the Invigorator Renderer as OpenGl doesn't support transparency.

Does this help?
Salut.

Serge,

That was the problem. I had it set to "Open GL" instead of "Invig. Renderer."
Pretty lame that there needs to be such a workaround. It makes things limited in terms of the final look.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi J,

Switching to another renderer is not a workaround. You must understand that the OpenGl feature is there to accelerate your preview and also final render but it has some limitations and this has nothing to do with Invigorator itself.

Salut.
Serge

Ah, I did not know that Open GL has limitations of it's own. My apologies to the Invigorator.
What websites, documentation, etc. would you recommend reading through to understand the differences between OpenGL and standard render engines?

Hello J.

I took a look at your project and it seems that you're looking at your Invigorator layer in Draft mode.
Transparency does not show up in Draft mode.

Switch your Invigorator layer to Best quality and you should see your transparency.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Matt,

Thanks for looking into my post. The link I included was a tutorial by Jon Okerstrom. I figured if he could get it to work, then I could. WRONG.
Serge Hamad nailed it. I had it set to "Open GL" instead of "Invig. Renderer."
Pretty lame that there needs to be such a workaround. It makes things limited in terms of the final look. It should just work either way.

Thanks for your help,
J
