Is Media100 2.1.6 & RED cleared to climb El Capitan?

Am not running any El Capitan preview,
but I just changed my SystemVersion.plist file to dupe my system into thinking it was OSX 10.11

It seems this time, Boris have removed the block that stops you running Media100 if it's an unsupported system. Instead, it tells you it's an unsupported OS. You may proceed, but at your own risk...
Here's a screen grab:

Minor updates are usually free, so here's hoping they'll check Media 100 running on El Capitan, and release a minor update if there are any bug fixes.

Thankfully though, there's nothing to stop 2.1.6 running on El Capitan, even if by the looks of it, El Capitan is not considered a supported OS right this moment.

So Andrew does it run without hiccups?

Haven't got a version of El Capitan installed yet, to test it with.

Downloading a copy now...

Still haven't installed El Capitan yet.

Chris Pettit has, and is encountering an error that won't let him start:

Rich from MacVideoPromo just posted some information in a Facebook comment:

To try and paraphrase, it sounds like...
...it's expected to work,
although 2.1.6 on OSX 10.11 should be considered a beta until Boris officially approve it.
Any bugs users find should be reported on these Creative Cow forums, or on the Facebook group,
and when Boris have got enough positive feedback, they'll remove the unsupported OS warning.

Personally, I've downloaded the "Install OS X El Capitan.app" update from the App Store, which stores itself in the applications folder. Rather than proceed on my current system, I've copied the app over to another folder, and will attempt to use it to put El Capitan on an external hard drive shortly. Once I've got a bootable external hard drive with El Capitan on it, I'll boot into it, try running Media 100 2.1.6 on it, and report back.

Some of you probably already have El Capitan up and running since it came out on the 30th Sept. Would be interested to hear how others are getting on with it, and Media 100...

Been super busy.

Only just got some more time recently,
and should be designing some magazine pages, although I just spent this morning making a super simple video about where HD settings are in Media 100. I realise videos about Media 100 on El Capitan are probably more relevant. I'll see what I can do before the end of the week.

From what I gather,
Floh has Media 100 on El Capitan, although is busy with a production and hasn't done any thorough testing yet [I don't speak for him, nor have any insight - I'm just going by what Rich posted - which I'll link to, and attach a picture of],
and Rich has Media 100 running in El Capitan also, with no problems yet.
Chris encountered an error, that some people also have on earlier operating systems (see error screenshot in previous post), and so rolled back to his previous OS, after a few reinstalls (which would normally fix it) failed to fix anything for him.

So three people tried it, two have it working, one couldn't get it to start. My source is pretty much the conversations between Chris and Rich here - that's literally all I'm going by atm:

As mentioned, I'll try and install El Capitan this week, and then report back first hand!
