Hello

I need to use old Media 100 Quicktime files. But our Media 100 systems are gone since a long time.
I cannot find the legacy media 100 quickltime component.

Could somebody help ?

Thanks by advance

Jacques

The easiest thing would be to go to http://www.borisfx.com/media100/ and download the 14-day trial of the latest software. It runs fine on Mavericks, and will install all codecs, etc, you need.

Only thing to watch out for, is if you open a project, programme, or bin file in the latest version of Media100 and save it (or if auto-save is switched on when you open it, and the system saves it for you), the newly saved files can't be opened on older/earlier versions of Media100.

However, I assume you're talking about Quicktime files in the Media100 codec, so you can just open them with Quicktime.

One tip - Quicktime X will not play back videos that use the old Media100i codec. Quicktime Player 7 will. You can download Quicktime Player 7 from Apple's website here:

Hey,

What Media 100 Systems do you mean.

I have a working Media 100 844/x v3.01 (program is one of the last versions) and Quicktime 6.5x for Windows somewhere at the 844/x installation CD.

Could this perhaps be helpfull for you?

Things happen.

Glad to hear it got sorted, Jacques, =).

Martin's your man, if you ever need codecs for the PC though - handy when working with PC based Premier users, and wanting to share your old Media100i stuff with 'em.

Good thing about modern Media100 though, is that you can edit in ProRes and other modern codecs, =).

Anyway, glad it all got sorted, =).

Thank you Andrew.
I am really grateful for your help. Now we are busy to reexport in Pro Res all our "old" movies to backup them.

For the record, I've just found out the German website has the Media100 codecs for download, standalone, without having to install the Media100 demo.

Codecs for Intel Macs:
http://www.media100.de/fileadmin/media100/media/files/support/downloads/Med...

Codecs for PowerPC Macs:
http://www.media100.de/fileadmin/media100/media/files/support/downloads/Med...

I did actually go to their website http://www.media100.de first, but there wasn't an instant download - just a form to fill out. Well, it seems after I filled the form, they did send an email back with the relevant links, =).

Thank you again, Andrew.
Germany is not far away from us, but I wouldn't have thought to visit them :)

I will carefully keep these files.
