Those of you who are Boris RED users almost certainly share my frustration at the relative lack of plug-in support for this great program. Direct plug-in support for Media 100 is another issue, but we'l deal with that later.
What I would like to suggest is that you take the time to contact various vendors and asked that relevant products work natively with RED.
The obvious candidates would be anyone publishing plug-ins for After Effects.
One example is Digital Juice (http://www.digitaljuice.com). DJ's ready2go templates would be great additions to RED. So would DJ's Motion Designer Toolkits.
Another candidate would be Red Giant Software. Go to http://www.redgiantsoftware.com and peruse all of the plug-in support for AE, then contact the company and suggest which ones you want for RED.
It would also be great if Video Copilot (http://www.videocopilot.net) had specific support for RED.
There are hundreds of other companies and one-man shops that can be contacted, so please do your part to spread the desire for more RED support.
Now, there are After Effect plug-ins that are compatible with RED, but it is not always easy to identify which ones, which is another source of frustration. Digieffects and Re:Vision will at least tell you which of their plug-ins work with RED, so be sure to thank them for their support.
