I am importing mpeg 4 files from a flip camera into media 100 SD. I am getting a darker image in media 100 (either media 100i or dv codec), more chroma, and more pulsating weave in certain fabrics, than exists in the original mpeg4 played in qt. any suggestions?

Oh the joy of color management. Try to export the file from QuickTime player in a usable codec, e.g. DV, Prores or something else. Does it look better in Media 100?

Had the same problem as well with those damn Flip videos! All I did was to create a pre-set colour correction which we add to any clips put onto the timeline. Found this was the easiest option. Only major problem we have with all of these types of cameras is that it's NTSC (at least 30 fps). The new Kodak 'flip' is better quality and shoots in 16:9 too (and has external mic input).
