Apply the ColorFX to your first clip
Select all clips you want to apply the ColorFX to
Double-click the clip with the ColorFX
Choose Tools->Apply ColorFX to selected clips

You have to Shift-select the clip that has the Color FX applied so that it is included with all the clips you want to change - then go to Tools>apply Color FX too selected clips.

thanks for the tip. It's still hit and miss, very frustrating.

Are any of the clips you're trying to add Color FX to already effected in some way using Media 100? I've found I can only have one Color FX applied - rendered or not. Work-arounds involve Boris or After Effects to add "layers" of effects.
