Bit confused...
Editing something on XDCAM which was shot at 1080p29.97fps. I'm mobile at the moment so I am cutting from a laptop and am using the DVCPROHD codec due my speed constraints.
I imported it into Media 100 as DVCPROHD and have been editing it in a 1080p29.97fps timeline.
When I export it to a by-reference clip and select "get info" on it. It tells me that the codec is DVCPROHD but 1080i60. Or if I open an XML into Media 100 the sequence settings also tell me it is 1080i.
I'm confused. Why is it suddenly 1080i?
Thanks.

That's just the name of the codec. I have no idea WHY they named it that way, but that's what you're seeing.
To reassure yourself, try the following in Media 100:
- Load a clip into the Edit Suite.
- Hold down the Command (apple) key while tapping on the left and right arrow keys. This will step through fields on interlaced media.
- If it's interlaced, you will see that it takes two taps of the arrow to move the timecode one frame.
- If it's progressive, one tap of the arrow will advance the timecode whether you are holding the Command key or not.

It is progressive. Wasn't making any sense to me that it wouldn't.
Thanks Wick, what a strange way to name that codec!

Wick, what happens if we hold our left ear with our right hand and then tap the arrow keys, maybe a pretty girl in a bikini will appear on our screens?

Micheal,
Lest you think I have no sense of humor, I have composed several snappy comebacks in the last 24 hours. Alas, none have been appropriate in the presence of mixed company ;-)
