problem returning back to 12.1.3 after installing trial vs. 13.0.1

Can't go back to m100 vs. 12.1.3 after installing trial vs. 13.0.1.
Tossed 13.0.1 and all the media100 prefs but get the following messages:
Could not create the keyframe player because a program error of type –19000 occurred.
Could not create the main player because a program error of type –19000 occurred.
and then m100 crashes upon opening. OSX 10.5.6 QT 7.6
Any ideas?

Did you use 12.1.3 before with OSX 10.5.6? I am not sure that this combination is working. And did you uninstall the Aja Kona drivers (assuming that you are working on an Aja based system and not on the HDx hardware)?

12.1.3 worked fine with OSX 10.5.6. until after I tried vs. 13 producer today. (Wanted to checkout a never resolved problem with jagged edges in RED).
I'm on HDx.
I probably have to reinstall 12.1.3 again, but if I would have known that then I would not have tried vs. 13.

Thanks Floh

Did you do an uninstallof 13.0.1 before installing V12.1.3? It sounds like some files were left somewhere, which did not get replaced properly by the older versions. Probably best approach would be to reinstall V13.0.1, uninstall it with the installer and then reinstall V12.1.3

Uninstalling 13.0.1 did not help. 12.1.3 is still broken, it is missing the quicktime components now. Probably I have to download and reinstall 12.1.3 again. I have not seen a warning that if you install a trial version that your actual version does not function anymore. Is it always that way?

Did you reinstall V12.1.3, or did you just delete the V13 folders? Since you have replaced your system extensions when installing V13, you of course have to reinstall V12.1.3 to get back to your previous version. There are several components installed e.g. in your System folder, like the FireWire support files, that get updated when installing a newer version. If you want to go back to an older version, you need to reinstall the older one.

I uninstalled (not just deleted) Vs. 13 and now I need to reinstall Vs. 12 again. Next time if I try out a version I'll do it on a different partition.
Wick, can I still download 12.1.3 somewhere?

Yup,

You can find it here: http://www.media100.com/support/downloads.php

It's possible that you'll be back in trial mode after you install it. If so, don't panic, you've got 2 weeks to sent the UPID to us and get a permanent unlock code.

That was fast Wick, you are up early! I'll download it and contact m100 directly to activate it.

Thank you both, Floh and Wick

Be sure to include support at media100 dot com when (if) you send in that UPID (Unique Product ID) code.

Our office is closed today 'cause it's at the center of the 15+ area on the forecast map for today's snow storm.

I'm working from home and if you send it to that email address, I should be able to get at it and process it.

Reinstalled 12.1.3, everything fine, did not need a new code (kept the registration prefs).

Thanks Wick

Good to hear that you're back in business again.

Two things happened here.

1 - The hardware version of M100 (Suite) and the software version (Producer) share some system resources. Whichever is installed most recently, owns those resources and thus, the other cannot launch. It would be a problem if you NEEDED both on the same system but, as of yet, we haven't figured out why one would need a hardware-based M100 and a software-based M100 on the same startup disk.

2 - The licensing scheme we use "remembers" the older versions you've installed and unlocked so, 9 times out of 10, there's no need to re-register a version you previously had unlocked.
