QuickTime 7.5.5 update (PLEASE READ)
on Sep 10, 2008 at 2:00:39 pm

Summary
Apple QuickTime 7.5.5 update for OS 10.5.4 causes certain codecs to no longer work.

Products affected:
Media 100 suite 12.x running on OS 10.5.4.

Detail:
With the update to QuickTime 7.5.5 the Media 100i codec and the Motion jpeg-B codec no longer work. With either codec when attempting to play a clip Media 100 will report bad video frames and may produce a black frame or picon. Further investigation is currently underway. This thread will be updated when we have more information.

[Greg Snyder] "Help! "

Like reminding you not to upgrade QuickTime?

Go to Apples QickTime Support Page and locate the QuickTime version you want to install. In your case most likely QuickTime 7.5 for Panther. Download it.
Go to YourHardDrive->Library->Receipts and delete the Receipts for QuickTime 7.5 and 7.5.5.
Go to Macupdate.com and search for "Pacifist". Download it
Use Pacifist to Install the downloaded QuickTime 7.5 installer package.
You should be good to g.

Hi Vegar,

please read this thread, where Wick from Media 100 did a summary of the necessary steps to get back to a working system setup, including the direct download links for the software you need. And make sure that you have downloaded the correct QuickTime version for your OS, otherwise your system will not boot anymore!!!
