i have an old .qt file that i'm sure was output using media 100 4.5
i've downloaded the media 100 8 transcoder hoping to play it back in quicktime but it has been unsuccessful - the file opens in quicktime but only shows a blank (white) screen and doesn't give me any errors.
i'm also using an intel machine (mac book pro) - not sure if that's making a difference.
You should download the Media 100 codecs from their support website. The Transcoder is quite old and has been replaced by the codecs. Additionally the Codecs are not Intel-native right now. So you need to open your QuickTime player using Rosetta if you want to see the file. Do a "Get Info" on the QuickTime Player application and select the "start using rosetta" checkbox.
