I recently upgraded an old version 5.5 xs to 8.2 for osx to use as a digitizing station. but the 720x486 box is grayed out and i cant select it. what gives? i found an article on media100''s site talking about enabling an analog 601 checkbox in my hardware preferences, but i dont see it. I didnt spendthe upgrade money just so i could have logged bins! is there a way to enable 720 for 601 cards?

The original Vincent board does not support 601 formats (720*576 and 720*486) at all. Are you sure you have a Vincent 601?

There is a 720 enabler utility "Media100720EnablerV102.sea.hqx" that will "flash" a 601 board. Here's the read me for it. I used it on my 601, and it worked like a charm in 7.5.

Just re-read that ReadMe. Looks like it is a software fix, not a flasher.

[Bobby Mosaedi] "hey is this only for os 9?"

Yes, the 720 enabler is only necessary (and only works) for/in M100 in OS 9. And you need a Vincent 601 board.

No. Did you did read the kb article you cited? The functionality of the 720 enabler was built into the v 8.x software for OS X. The Analog 601 option will only appear in the hw prefs if you have a Vincent 601 board installed. Ergo, I'm guessing you have a Vincent TM board and not a Vincent 601, as Floh also implied.

If I recall correctly, the about box in M100 lists what type of board you have, along with its serial. Or maybe its the diags. A P6000 lists as P6000. Vincent 601 = Vincent 601. Vincent TM = Just plain ol' "Vincent."

I'd give it a try in OS 9 and see if it works. Report back!

if its a vincent 601 card and you're running 8.2 there should be a little check box in the hardware preferences
enable 601 or 720 or something like that.
