Hi folks

a client has given me some wmv files that have come off a digital security system. They play fine on the WMP on the mac but when I try to import them into media 100 it won't let me. Just doesn't wanna know. Get info says it's mpeg 4 video V3 (window Media audio V7 -although there doesn't appear to be any sound on it, which is fine cause i don't need it).

I know it'll look pretty shitty but I think we'll end up using it as a bg texture or something.

But at this point i'd be really greatful for any advice re how to import it into M100. What do I have to do to it to get it in?

thanxs in advance for any help...

Cheers
Steve

If you are on OSX you could do a screen capture with SnapZ Pro X.

Sorry to take so long to respond as I have been a bit of a vacation (finally)

Running Flip 4 Mac just fine on 10.3.8, not Tiger.

Just a word to the wise... a lot of music labels are getting real picky about what their music is used for. Pirated music is a major issue with them and they will not hesitate to prosecute. Just because you "bought" the music from iTunes does not give you rights and clearances to use it in a commercial video production. You bought the right to listen to that music on your computer or personal music player - not to use it as background music in a video. Be VERY cautious. Producers and editors can be held accountable.

Ah, okay Wayne...that sounds like good advice for people who pirate music. But not me cause I do everything above board. Do you have any words for the wise for people who want to import wmv into media100?

thanks had and joe for your help with this.

I'm sorry. I just realized that I posted this to the wrong thread. Too much time at the computer. My response was actually to the next thread down. Again, sorry for jumping in on this one.

no worries. At first I thought it was a bit odd. But then I realised what you'd done. No harm done anyhow.
