ADOBE RGB- how to export/transform without crashing the colors?
on Mar 8, 2017 at 4:23:23 pm

I have recorded all of my footage while travelling in ADOBE RGB AVCHD 2.0 on a sony a6000 camera.

Since it's a bigger triangle then sRGB in color space, I fear that premiere or after effects will crush the colors when exporting.

I feart that i will lose detail in the shadows (0-256) when its clipped to (16 256).

I have exported an adobe rgb clip with native AVCHD to cineform yuv and rgb 10/12 bit and comparing it to the original clip, I see a difference in the shadows, but don't really know if thats a compression loss or because of the adobe rgb to srgb conversion.

I can't find any help to this topic in the whole WWW. But this is defining my workflow and future grading!

Please help, anyone.
