Since this question seems to come up quite a lot among users new to Fusion, especially those coming from layer-based compositors like After Effects, I have put together this short tutorial:







I hope this helps explain some of the basics of what is happening in Fusion and why it can cause confusion until you get used to the concepts.

This can certainly be a confusing topic for users who are coming from an environment like After Effects, but I think it's pretty easy to grasp once you understand the fundamentals.
