Feather colour selection in secondaries?
on Oct 23, 2014 at 6:55:42 am

Is there a way to father the colour selection for secondaries? Ie. I am targeting a specific colour range and would like to feather the grade.

Yea, pretty easy to feather color/hue, sat, & lightness. The secondary controls for those are horizontal lines. Say you use the + dropper to select a few pixels. Right above the 3 lines a graphic thingie appears ... there's a white vertical line in the middle of a gray area, with little triangles on the top edge of the gray area on one side, bottom the other.

White line ... that's the center of the selection. You can grab that and move left/right, moves the entire graphic thingie as is.

Top triangle ... that's the control for the width of the selection. Drag it out to include a wider swatch of color/hue, sat, or lightness, and in to narrow the selection. This is the are completely altered by the changes you'll make.

Bottom triangle ... width of feathering. Note, as you drag it out the way it shows a diminishing triangle ... that is the representation of the feathering going on.
