Error playing H.264 files?
on Aug 22, 2014 at 1:28:59 am

Using SpeedGrade CS6 for the first time (new to video workflow) and I'm trying to work with 4K footage from my GH4. I believe its H.264.
-Am I doing something wrong? The files look fine elsewhere.

It's a known bug - quicktime support is completely broken for 4K. In later versions I believe there is a workaround due to dynamic link support.

Best thing to do is edit your footage in Premiere and export a DPX sequence (if you want to stay in 4K) that can be graded in Speedgrade. This might be really sluggish depending on your hard drive setup, but kind of the only way for CS6.
