Object Tracking in a Tripod Shot
on Jan 8, 2012 at 6:05:56 pm

I got this shot that I'm supposed to put a bullet hole in the back of the head of a person. The head is moving but it's a tripod shot. I thought I can do an object track on the head.

But SynthEyes doesn't really allow me to do it. It says size constraints aren't set up. Also, naturally I can't do an automatic track because it can't find any satisfactory initial frames. Any ideas?

You can download the project file here.

Hi Ozgun,
If your getting a message that says "can't find any satisfactory initial frames" try setting the initial frames yourself. In the solver panel where it says begin and end click the box to the right to set the frames it will use for the initial solve. Hope that helps.
Brian

Hi Brian,
thanks for your response, but I actually ended up doing a hand tracking in 3ds Max. It was a pretty fast solution to the problem and turned out quite good actually.
