Media Import Window - Timecode Reader?

A Timecode reader in the Media Import window would be nice to have.

I recorded a 24 minute Q & A session (PXW-X70 - XAVC-L) which is part of a Camera Archive. While recording I noted key points the old fashioned way, with pen and notebook. It would be nice to be able to skim to the In and Out points to select ranges to import, rather than the 9GB clip.

I can view the MXF clips in VLC Player but that only shows elapsed time of the individual clip, not the Timecode of the clip.

Turn on skimmer info (ctrl Y) and it’ll show the TC of the skimmer.

Thanks Brett. Turning on Skimming shows timecode when skimming the Timeline. Unfortunately, this doesn't work when skimming camera clips in the Import Window. At least not in 10.3.4.

Oops! I replied to soon. I didn't read Ctrl Y. Now it works.
Thank you!.

(I'll attribute this to just coming in from cutting the grass for the first time this season up here in Canada.)

Me too! Well now there's a screen shot added. Hope it helps!

But I'm one who really never uses the import window unless I have too. See how I can't leave those files in place? Just drag them to an event window and you can. They lose their spanning but for me it's a small price to pay.

Not skimming, "skimmer info". But you may have misspoken. Works great in 10.4.6 and as far as I remember the last 8 years. You do apparently have to be in list mode. But I just imagined if you were logging in clips from TC you'd be in list mode in the import window.

Thanks Brett!
I always log in List View. And, yes, Ctrl Y does work for Skimmer Info in 10.3.4. I had jumped the gun on my first reply :-)
