Is there a possibility to export single clips to FCP7 for Plugin-FX (the route back is simple, I know).

thanks

You can create a "Compound Clip" in your Event and copy the clip you want to export into it. Then just export the new Compound Clip (Command + E). For now, I like having a Compound Clip in my Events called "Temp for Exports" and use it for stuff like you are asking about. Until we can set in and out points in the timeline it's this method or using the "Send to Compressor" command and setting the in and out there. Maybe someone on here has figured out a better way.

Thank u for the reply, but even if I open the compound clip it exports the whole timeline-how do I do it right?

Just copy the single clip you want into the new Compound Clip. Then when you export the new Compound Clip it is just exporting the single clip inside it.

Not sure why you would want to export anything, as isn't the contents of the Event Library available to all other Apple Apps? I don't have FCP on the same drive to test, but you should see something like this in the import dialog of FCP:

Please let me know if I am wrong!

I think Gregor was talking about exporting just parts of a clip or clips and not the entire clip that he originally loaded in. But yes, you could just Reveal in Finder and use the original clip if you wanted the whole thing. Good thought Jigs.

finally someone who understands me ;=)
i should have it described it more clearly.

my problem: i capture my media in large pieces and want to denoise, e.g., a dark part in fcp7. so my solution is timecode, but with several clips it would be easier to export them....
