FCPX Summit?

Anyone going or been in the past? Looks like fun though I think I could kinda teach most of the classes. Apple day would be a blast. Trying to decide if I want to part with the bucks... it's like the price of a new MacBook Pro lol.

It was at a Vegas premiere that I resolved to become an avid FCPX user.

Best money I spent last year. As to already knowing the software throughly, no matter how much you know, there is always more to learn. I've been in seminars about topics I know really well, but still hear that one idea or tip I haven't considered before and it improves my work. But honestly, it's not about the seminars. It's about relationships. Sitting down for coffee with somebody you only know from their posts or writings, reveals far more about who they are and how they really think than reading 10,000 posts. In a sense, the biggest effect on who you are, is what you spend your time and money perusing. If you see yourself as an FCP X editor - the Creative Summit presents a very unique opportunity to dive deeper into the X community any other event. The others NAB, IBC, etc - are peripherally about X. The CS is ALL about it. And it's unique in that way. My two cents.

BTW,

FMC has published the Summit schedule and Friday looks VERY interesting.
Particularly 2pm and 3pm.

That fits in with the rumours of an October update

Excited to see what they have in store for Final Cut. Would be more excited if the update was released that very same day. Fingers crossed, knocking on wood, avoiding black cats and not walking under ladders at the moment.
