- I can't figure out how to select all the clips from a certain point in the timeline forward. In FCP7, just hit "T". In FCPX, if I want to scoot everything down so I have a space, it looks like the easiest thing to do right now is insert a gap and then stretch that out.
- But now that I have a gap, I can't figure out an easy way to set the duration of it. In fact, I can't see an easy way to even see what the current duration of the gap is!
Just super basic things that I totally miss! I really do like the "loudness" audio adjustments. I needed something louder that I'm not sending off for a pro mix on (not that I could from FCPX because of no OMF support) and the loudness tool was perfect.
The easiest way to get the duration of a clip or in/out duration, is to either select the clip or select the region of the clip you want to know the length, and simply double on the timecode window, just above your sequence. The timecode window will change over to show you the duration of your in & out points.
Hope this helps.

It goes even further than that. After you select the gap and double click on the timecode (or control+d if you're a keyboard junky), simply type in the new duration (for example "510" for 5seconds + 10frames) and hit return. The gap will resize to the entered duration.
