LTO 7 Capacity (not M) in a LTO 8 Drive

I am looking for someone with first hand knowledge, and not a grid. 😉.

Has anybody written to regular LTO7 tape (not LTO 7 M) with an LTO 8 drive at 6TB? (Not 7M, not wanting to start a long conversation about that).

I am using BRU Server 2.03. And an NEOSeries 24 slot (Flexstore II & IBM Drive.)

Sure you can use a regular LTO7 tape in an LTO8 drive. I'm assuming by your subject you're asking for the real capacity?

Just like a hard drive, it's usually a bit less than the stated amount. An LTO7 would be like 5.5TB in reality or possibly less. There is no gain in capacity by using an 8 drive over a 7 etc.
