On a Deadline-Mic Interference
on Jun 18, 2020 at 3:42:34 am

Hi,

I work for a campus ministry that has been recording our church services and putting them online for 70,000-160,000 people every weekend. We are set to pre-record again on Friday afternoon for this weekend’s service. The last couple of weekends, the artifact/interference has been getting worse and worse. Here is an example:

We have individual transmitters and receivers for every mic, everything is separate. I am kind of in a bind and the clock is ticking to figure it out. If someone could patiently give me some thoughts on what it could be from and walk me through how to fix it, I would be so, so very grateful.

Please help!! :)

Hello Mary and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

Sounds like some sort of local interference. I'd put the receiver as close as possible to his transmitter.

Maybe place the receivers up high so there would be line of sight. from receiver to transmitter antennae, or around behind them if they're wearing the transmitters on their backs.
