Timeline thumbnails

Any ideas why all thumbnails are not visible?
They were before.
Confused.
Thanks for the help.
Tim

Clips need a certain width to show thumbnail: zoom in a bit more.

Thanks for the reply Ann.
I wish it was that easy. I'm showing the entire timeline to show the randomness of my issue.
All preferences are checked and heights and widths make no differances.
Frustrating.

You mean that if you only look at half or a third of the timeline, more thumbnails don't appear?

Hi Dave.
That is correct.

I discovered what is causing my issue but I have not been able to reverse it outside of deleting the clip and reinserting it into the timeline.
The clips not showing a thumbnail have been Time Remapped via right-clicking on the FX icon at the top-left of each clip, selecting "Time Remapping" then reducing the speed by a percentage.
I was aware that "Time Remapping" doesn't play well with other effects but never noticed this one.
Is this not odd behavior?

[Tim Maddoux] "Is this not odd behavior?"

No. Not at all. Especially if your footage is something like an MP4, AVCHD or H.264. They don't contain complete frame information for each and every frame, just at given frames (aka keyframes). They're sometimes a beast to work with and may require transcoding to a higher-quality media container and codec.

You've got a non-linear editor, not a magic wand.

Thanks Dave.

These files are MP4's as you say. What would you suggest as a transcode that might help?

Thanks again Dave.
