Compression advice

Trying to compress some video files without much success. I used Zipit to try to compress some ~10Gb .MOV files. The "compressed" files were less than 10% smaller. Not much help at all. Any advice on procedures / apps to get some real scrunching here?

Many thanks

With video files you're best option is to bring them into media encoder and create H264 versions which will be a mere fraction of the original size.

Zipping Video files will never shrink them much and is not a good idea.

Are you Zipping them for archival purposes, if so archive them exactly as they are.
If you compress them to H.264's and need them later on you will be working with degraded versions of the originals.

Take a moment to place a value on them and then maybe add two more.
