To change or no to change? That is the question
on Jan 17, 2017 at 8:34:04 am

Hi all...
We're delivering films at 23.98 but all our footage up to now is 25 because it was from previous shoots and not specific to this project. We have one shoot going out tomorrow for our last film.
Should we film 23.98 or keep at 25 do you think?
25 would keep everything uniform and I've always worked uniformly but 23.98 would save frame rate converting.
Also, if we need any cutaways from previous shoots then we'll be using 25p footage.

Thanks in advance.

Record, editing and export with same fps = less problems

The most important question -- what frame rate do you need to DELIVER? That will drive any further frame rate issues on this project.

And then you'll have to CONVERT (real term, "frame rate conversion") other footage at other frame rates to the delivery rate prior to editing.

Sure, you can cut using different frame rates if you wish, but I for one would not dare to do so. You will have an ungodly mess on your hands when you export.
