Please...
I converted files from R3D to ProRes422HQ and they played well in VLC and also in the QuickTime Player but when I imported them into Premiere CS4 (OSX LION) they stutter as if frames were being skipped. I tried various project settings and interpret settings but nothing seems to work. Also the aspect ratio appears right on the source window but very oversized on the timeline viewer.
BTW other kinds of files (MP4, MOV) played well. But not these 422HQs.
Unfortunately I can't reach the DP for specs on how he shot it so I can only go by the specs Premiere gives me (24 fps 2048x1080) and trial and error, but I can't seem to get it right.

Can anyone out there please help me?

What are your computer specs (RAM, processor, etc.)?

If the computer were the problem, why would the clip play so well on both VLC and QT Player?

I've also tried lighter codecs and different settings, but all I could attain was a smooth source window playback at normal speed yet with diagonal line artefacts that don't go away with the anti flicker.

What's really strange to me, and which might give a clue to the problem, is that every codec and setting I tried always produces a giant oversized playback on the timeline, though it always fit fine on the source monitor.

Can anyone please advise me?

Premiere is more than just a video player and requires more resources. Unfortunately it's hard to pinpoint the problem without any info on the computer.

Please tell me what info you need and I'll try to provide it. I never had this problem before with other codecs and other clips play fine but this one stutters no matter what codec I use (I haven't tryed all of them) like maybe there's a problem generating a preview file or something (obviously I'm no expert).

un-ticked "Enable accelerated Intel h.264 decoding" in preferences/media tab and closed extra premiere panels-hidden

Thanks but I'm on CS4 and I don't have any audio on the clip. The clip is 2048x1080 (1.0) at 23.98 fps. It's like it can't handle HD.
