Issues importing 1920 x 818 footage
on Dec 11, 2016 at 1:09:21 am

Hi guys,

Amateur user here - I was wanting to bring into premiere a movie file I downloaded and was wondering which project settings I should use for the import - struggling at the moment as every time I import the file premiere dies.

Dimensons: 1920 × 818
Codec: MPEG-4 AAC, AVC0 Media, Dolby Digital Plus, p608, 3GPP Text, Photo - JPEG

I don't know if this is an issue with the settings I'm using or the size of the file - which is nearly 4gb. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
Max

It depends on what you're going to deliver. Web? Blu-ray? TV?
My initial guess is to use 1920x1080 sequence settings. When you add video to the timeline it will look letterboxed.
