Can't export large frame size in Premiere Pro using H264 codec
on Sep 15, 2016 at 6:09:46 am

Hey folks,

I have a client that needs an export with 2000x3000 frame size.

The sequence in Premiere Pro is 2000x3000 but when I try to export it shrinks to 1536x2304. I can click "Match Sequence Settings" but it creates a large Quicktime file (4GB).

I need a small file for the web, like H264.

Attached photo, any suggestions?

Thanks,

Lance

That's the largest resolution H264 supports for the height. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC#Profiles

Thanks for your response Tero! Is there any way to decrease the file size? Are there any web friendly codecs that work with those dimensions?

I don't know what file the player in question is expecting but you could render it out as 3000x2000 and see if you can rotate the video in the player.

You'll probably want H.265, but you want to double-check that will work with where ever you are delivering it.
