I'm running Premiere Pro CS5 on Win7 x64. I have a project that was created in 1920 x 1080. I'd like to make a portion of it into a Vine which requires 720 x 720. I thought I could just use the crop effect to do that (in a copy of the project), but it leaves black space around the cropped section. I could zoom in to eliminate the black, but that resizes the cropped section back to the size of the project (well, sequence), and would still leave some black on the sides due to the different aspect ratios. How do I create a 720 x 720 clip from my 1920 x 1080 project? Thanks.

Create a 720x720 sequence and insert the 1080 clip. Scale and position as desired.

When I create the new sequence, PP won't let me unlink the width and height fields on the General tab, so I can't set them both to 720.

Create a new 720x720 project and import the current 1080 project or the source clips, as appropriate.
