Video Export Problem
on Jan 24, 2015 at 8:33:06 pm

Hello there!

I am exporting the complete timeline of my video (ca.35 minutes) with CS4.
The video export completes with no error message, the final file looks good, but when playing back the file, the video freezes at a certain point. I've repeated the procedure twice and it more or less friezes at the same spot. I tried to export a fragment of about 5 minutes, including the part where the image friezes, and it works just fine. The spot where it friezes is a long shot without cuts, or gaps, so I don't see how the material might cause a problem.

I am including an image with my export presents (unfortunately in German!) in case this could help.

Any help or indications would be great!

Thank you,

Eleni

Maybe nesting will help before export. Just a wild guess.

I just finished another export after nesting the video, like Ann suggested. Unfortunately the video friezes again at the same point... Any further ideas, anybody?

Delete problem footage, rename or copy and import again.
See if that will help.

Thank you Ann, I ll give it a try also! I already managed to export in prores, in a much lower resolution but at least, it worked.

Try exporting ProRes then creating the H264?

Hi Eric, thanks a lot for your proposal. Indeed I managed to export the whole file in prores,in a lower resolution and it did work! Hopefully it will also work with the high res. All the best, Eleni.

I'm not sure the German word, but what is your keyframe interval?

This may be your computer and not the file.

Hi Richard, thanks for your reply. Hm, I dont know whats the key frame interval. Where can I find this out? And also,I think it is the file that friezes unfortunately. But maybe the export doesnt work because of a computer memory problem. What do you suggest checking to find out? Best wishes,Eleni.

[Eleni Mouzourou] "export doesn't work because of a computer memory problem."

That's my guess. On a mac, open Activity Monitor, and see what's happening. If the "Swap Used" starts to grow, then it's a computer issue, and you'll need more RAM. Try uploading the file to the Cow, Vimeo, or YouTube and see what happens on playback. Each of those sites has a flip factory that will convert the video into many formats. In that way, you can tell if your file itself is corrupt, or if your computer is slow.

Keyframe distance, that's what I meant.
