importing hot audio?

tad newberryimporting hot audio?

is there some setting that is adding db to my sound flies? the last few i've imported are really hot...the waveforms even crushed at the top. true, they might've been recorded that way, but it doesnt' seem likely.

You can right click on the clip in the timeline and adjust the gain which will lower the waveforms as well, but this sounds like the original file is just over modulated to begin with. Have you tried listening to it outside of premiere?
